Exhibits Around Town

 

It was with great enthusiasm that we began work on a project for Elmira District Community Living.

The idea was to create personalized prints for their offices that visually embodied their mission statements:

• provide support to individuals and their families from Elmira District Community Living

• facilitate and advocate for meaningful community participation in keeping with each person's life vision

It was quickly decided that photography would be the best way to capture the diversely collaborative program assisting over 100 individuals andtheir families in the Townships of Woolwich, Wellesley and Mapleton.

Paul arranged to have a photographer visit the multiple venues which EDCL operates, as well as shadow some of the participants at their jobs within the community. These sessions generated a series of poignant images embodying the spirit of the program and its members.

22 images were selected to adorn the office walls, varying in size from 24” x 20” all the way up to 48” x32” and were printed directly on canvas; mounted to 3/4” deep frames. This provided a softer, more artistic look than the traditional matting and framing of a photo.
